  China unveils J-20 stealth fighter missiles and plan for ‘world-class’ air force China has displayed its new J-20 stealth fighter jet missiles for the first time as it announced plans to expand its air force.Two J-20 jets flew over crowds attending the Zuihai Air Show to mark the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army’s air force.During the flypast, the aircraft opened their armaments bay doors to reveal the four long-range missiles held inside. But unlike its US counterparts, the J-20 has never flown in actual combat.The aircraft has also been dogged by inferior engine technology. Until that vital component is improved, the J-20 will continue to depend on Russian-designed engines.The J-20s’ flypast on Sunday came just before China announced a blueprint for a massive modernisation of its air force.Australia is buying 72 of the F-35 stealth fighters for the RAAF.
